Tavistock Beekeepers are currently running winter talks via Zoom but hope to return to live ‘in person’ talks to provide a forum for members to meet each other and discuss bee matters.

Guests are encouraged to bring along their clean bee suit and disposable gloves to participate in or observe some beekeeping at the host’s discretion. Food is on a bring-and-share basis and refreshments are provided. Bring a plate, chair and a mug.

Sunday 9 June – Bee Tea – 2pmTony Herbert’s scientific and experimental approach to beekeeping will be on show at his off-grid out-apiary where his varroa tolerant bees thrive. You’ll see a variety of hives in use, including log, Warre, flow, standard as well as a traditional skep.

Guests are encouraged to bring along their clean bee suit and disposable gloves to participate in or observe some beekeeping at the host’s discretion. Food is on a bring-and-share basis and refreshments are provided. Bring a plate, chair and a mug.

Sunday 30 June – Bee Tea – 2pmJustine Colton keeps bees in a range of different hive types and is one of the few local beekeepers who successfully keeps bees (and produces honey) in the high altitude and challenging weather conditions of Dartmoor.

Guests are encouraged to bring along their clean bee suit and disposable gloves to participate in or observe some beekeeping at the host’s discretion. Food is on a bring-and-share basis and refreshments are provided. Bring a plate, chair and a mug.
